Surfing the NetClick Here for information about Browsers (the programs used to do the surfing). Surfing is synonymous with Browsing and refers to looking around the Internet in the same way you might browse around a mall, going into one store, looking at the offerings, leaving by a different door. Going into a different store for a while, coming back to the first store and then leaving and window shopping for a while. Then you drive to a different mall and "Browse" there for a while. Then you might go to a library and an art gallery, a grocery store, a car dealer, and browse or purchase in these places. You might take in a concert and watch a movie while you are out. The only difference here is that you "Browse" using your computer. You can still enjoy music, movies, art galleries, museums, look at cars, groceries and other products and buy them if you wish. When you use the Browser to go to different sites, they are displayed in the main window. For instructions on making your browser display different sites Click Here. See also the list of websites for interesting places to surf. You can find many places on the web with links to categories of your choice. Most of the search engines provide categories of places to surf to. You can go to the search info section of my websites list. |
