Links
checked & revised 1-18-2005
Many
links to Microsoft info on their site
(They change their site frequently. If any links don't work, let
me know or just search their site for what you want.)
http://www.microsoft.com/ How you get to
95, 97 & 2000 info. Type in the program you want help with
in the search box at the top.

Most of these work in earlier versions.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/default.aspx
All kinds of assistance. For example, type in "Legal Documents"
(less quotes) in the search box & look at all the help that
is available just for this category. Then try "Medical"
or any other category of interest.
Remember, there is little support for Word 97, but you can
go here & type
in Word 97 in the search box for what is currently available.

Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
Search for information on any Microsoft product. For example, try
searching for Word 97 in the Search box. While there download
& install the beta Spyware program if you don't already have
it.

Miscellaneous
Etymology
is the study of word origins. I got started by wondering where the
phrase "Three sheets to the wind" came from. The answer
can be found at (not to be confused with entomology, the study of
insects)
http://www.wordorigins.org/ This site has a history
of the English language and other interesting information like common
errors in etymology. More etymology sites:
Find etymology of first
names here
You can find more by searching for "etymology" with any
search engine.
http://www.thinkbabynames.com/
has lots of baby names & the meaning.
After a few hours searching the web for this stuff, I’m bushed.
Have fun.
